Today (January 19) is National Popcorn Day. We need more holidays like this! It's fine to commemorate important historical personages and events, but I really enjoy holidays that involve eating great foods. Who doesn't like popcorn? I know it's an acquired taste for most felines, but those of us who enjoy it really, really take great pleasure in munching down a bag. Or several.
Our Popcorn Machine Looks Like This (Sort of)
A while back I blogged about Saturdays becoming free "popcorn day" at my Library. But we've got free popcorn for our patrons right now, given the national scope and importance of today's celebration. In fact, the popcorn is bagged and ready for you at this very minute, as I type this (well, my minion is typing, but I'm dictating). You should run to the Library--be quite fleet of foot, if you please--before I eat every bag somebody else beats you to it.
This is just another great service from my Library, and it's our way of thanking patrons for visiting. Come around again on Saturdays, and you'll get more for free. Can't beat that.

P.S. We've already used the instrumental "Popcorn," by Hot Butter (1972), as our musical closer to my Saturday Popcorn blog post. Are there any other versions of the song? You can't go wrong with the Muppets.
Popcorn is a fun cat toy, especially on hardwood floors!
