Today (July 3) is MPL Composer Day. Longtime readers know that my Library has its own composer, who writes original musical scores (available in MP3 format on CD and online) that we use in our hundreds of videos (available for your viewing pleasure at the MPL YouTube Channel). Since our videos have nearly reached half a million viewings, we thought it would be appropriate to honor the gentleman most responsible for that success. I call him the Music Man, but his real name is Danny Buckley.

You may also listen to selections of his music from the following websites, besides our library videos:
We hope you enjoy his music as much as we do!
How should we celebrate? For moi, I'd like canned tuna-in-oil, naturally. The Music Man would probably prefer something sweeter. The Lady With the Red Hair is baking him a cake and planning a special dinner, I'm told.

P.S. Watch (and listen to) the Millikin University Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Brian Justison, perform three of Danny's original compositions at a concert on February 23, 2014. These selections appear on The Persistence of Memory (2011).
Yay! :)
