Take Five, Crickets!

Remember last month, when Casey at the Bat and Crafty Gal applied for an Indiana State Library (ISL) rock star startup kit for their youth services programs?

Guess what?  THEY WON!  Soon they will be playing a brand new ukulele! I wonder what that will sound like.

Maybe Crafty Gal and/or Casey at the Bat will play their new ukulele for our digital video camera, much like Renata Jayne, a children's storyteller/musician from Brisbane, Australia who has a Facebook page and website.  Sounds like a great video series for our early literacy patrons!  Minions, make it so.

Glad to know that we won't be having so many awkward silences around the Library once our ukulele arrives.  Those crickets could use a rest.

P.S.  The Crickets released "It's So Easy" (1958), composed by Buddy Holly and Norman Petty, as a hit single.  The group performed the tune on such popular television programs as American Bandstand (October 28, 1958).  Here's a fan video with composite photos and Kinescope clips.
