Sock It To Seuss!

When Scowl-Face was struggling through his formative years, the phrase Sock it to me! was the cat's PJs, thanks to the television series Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In (1967-1973).  (I, of course, would say sock it to moi, if I were to say anything that stupid.)  Since today (March 2) would have been the 109th birthday of Dr. Seuss (1904-1991), Crafty Gal is socking it to Seuss, like so:

Cat in the Hat socks are the real cat's pajamas, I'd venture.  You can't tell from these photos, but Crafty Gal was also wearing a Cat in the Hat t-shirt. Naturally, we have a video of that.

(Week of February 24-March 2, 2013)

Today the MPL Youth Services Department is creating Seuss-related crafts with our young patrons and their caregivers.  The first 10 kids who make crafts win Seuss stuff like that bag on the left (in the video).  "Seuss swag!" says Crafty Gal.  Yours for the making, if you drop by the Library.

P.S. Poor Judy Carne. She was the "sock it to me" girl for years on Laugh-In. Still, it could have been worse. She had been married to Burt Reynolds (1963-1965). (Kidding!)
