My good friend Sparkle the Designer Cat has posted an important blog about National Feral Cat Day, which is next Sunday (October 16, 2011). I encourage all of my loyal readers to take a moment to read Sparkle's informative and insightful commentary. (Thanks for letting me borrow your beautiful photo to use as a hyperlink, Sparkle.)
National Feral Cat Day
Sparkle offers some great suggestions how our humans can become involved. We all love cats, so let's work together to help.
This day hits especially close to home, because I myself am a feral cat. Well, sort of. I do have homes (several, in fact), but I'm usually out wandering because I'm a freedom feline and a roving reporter. But I have spent many a hard day's night (thanks, Ringo, for that great phrase) dumpster-diving in the company of hungry feline ferals. It's a rough life, so we need to do what we can to make a difference. Population control is most effective when TNR (trapping, neutering, and returning) is utilized.
Learn the facts from the official National Feral Cat Day website and, of course, from Sparkle, who is a true public service kitty.
