My Library has had a Boys' Adventure Club for quite some time. But girls want adventure, too, so Broadway Gal created a Girls' Adventure Club, which begins meeting this month.

On Monday, October 17, 2011, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., in the Children's Program Area, the MPL Girls' Adventure Club will meet to do some library exploring.
Have you ever wondered what's in the MPL Basement? I've been down there many times--Boss Lady prefers that I steer clear of patrons with respiratory allergies or ailments--and, let me tell you, there are plenty of cool, mysterious, and amazing things down there. If you're in grades Kindergarten through 6th, and you would like to bring a flashlight and go exploring with Broadway Gal in the Library's basement, then be sure to REGISTER using our online calendar or call (317) 831-7323 and ask for Youth Services. There are still openings for this program, but you should act quickly.
Who knows who you might see in the MPL Basement. Maybe even moi. That would truly make your day.

P.S. Speaking of exploration, the Moody Blues performed "Dr. Livingstone, I Presume" live on the BBC2 music television programme Colour Me Pop (Sept. 14, 1968 broadcast). The song, written by Ray Thomas, appeared on the album In Search of the Lost Chord (1968).
