Minions, Call the S.W.A.T. Team!

Something suspicious has appeared on my Library's floor in the Grand Hall.  As always, click images to bigify.

Odd That Hole Being There

I wonder if we might have meeses in the Library?

Such a Perfect Circular Hole

The hole is remarkably circular.  Looks like it was cut with a power saw.  I wonder if meeces have gotten their paws on any jigsaws or circular saws that we have in the Library basement?

That hole is eight centimeters (i.e., three inches) in diameter.  That's huge!  This could mean more than meeces.  We could have slitherdarts wintering in our basement.  Really BIG slitherdarts.  We're talking ten feet long (or longer).

I think I'll just sit here for awhile and see what crawls out of this hole.  Minions, ready the camera!

Something's poking its head out!  We'll wait until s/he climbs all the way out to take his/her photo.

That's a Rattermeese!

That's no ordinary meese!  It's a rattermeese!  We need heavily armed back-up!  Minions, call the S.W.A.T. team!!

P.S.  Hey, that rattermeese reminds moi of one of our book trailers.

P.P.S.  The theme music to The Three Stooges movie shorts was a variation of "Three Blind Mice."  Classic slapstick humorists, these three.  Watch moi do the Curly shuffle!

P.P.P.S.  Is meeces or meeses the proper spelling?  Minions, make with the reference queries.

Boss Lady Kids Around

This morning, Crafty Gal and Casey at the Bat were having OOLEs (out-of-library-experiences), leaving only Cataloger Queen to staff the Library's Youth Services Department.  There were early literacy programs scheduled, and since Cataloger Queen can't bilocate, Boss Lady entered the breach and led Baby Time, Twos & Threes Time, and (possibly) Story Time, although I can't swear to that last one.  I was doing the feline roving reporter thing.  Guess I, too, was having an OOLE moiself.

Fortunately, minions snapped a couple of pix during Baby Time, which show Boss Lady directing songs and activities.  Click the images to bigify.

Boss Lady Leading Baby Time
(or Vice Versa)

Boss Lady was doing the puppeteer thing with a rattermeese.  She had it on one of her forepaws.  Frankly, it (the puppet, not Boss Lady's forepaw) was just a little too lifelike for my taste.

Now I've reviewed past blog postings, and I have spelled meeces and meeses differently while intending the same meaning.  A rattermeece (or rattermeese) is just a really big, scary meece/meese.

A Meece is a Meese, of course, of course
(Apologies to the Mister Ed television theme song composer)

A Rattermeece (or Rattermeese) climbing through
the hole in my Library's floor

I declare both spellings to be correct.  Hey, I can do that!  It's my blog.  So there.

Anyway, I think Boss Lady should start doing puppet shows with Crafty Gal, Casey at the Bat, Queenie the Cow, and Aggie McPooch.  Sammy the Toucan, too, if she should happen to drop by from the Indiana State Library.

P.S.  Ringo Starr recorded an album of children's narratives and songs called Scouse the Mouse (1977).  The LP was released in Great Britain.  I don't recollect seeing it on this side of the pond.

Time Out For Rattermeece Dinner

The Decorinator, the BizMeister, and Miss Erma have rekindled our faux fireplace.

Looks like there's something new this year.

That's a Rattermeece (or Rattermeese)
on That Grandfather Clock

Nice, Big, Juicy Rattermeece, I Notice

That's Moi, Noticing

As I recollect the nursery rhyme, "Hickory Dickory Dock," that rattermeece has to come down sometime.

Yep.  Pretty Much.

I can wait.  Patience is a feline strong suit.  Meanwhile, there's a nice, warm faux fire, even if the slobberdog is hogging it.

How do those snow dudes keep from melting atop that fireplace?  That's a poser.

If anyone is looking for moi, check under the tree outside the Friends of the Library book sale room.  I'm waiting for my dinner to descend.  Looks like the clock won't be the only thing that "struck one."

P.S.  Let's reprise our book trailer featuring Mike Nelson's Death Rat!: a Novel, by Michael J. Nelson, which I have previously reviewed.
