Code Breaker 2-14

Picture Puzzle!  These are always fun.  Break the graphic code.  It's a three-word phrase.

Yes, it is once again February 14, and if you've forgotten to get your special loved one a Valentine's Day special treat, it's not too late.  Cauli has you covered.

Thanks to Casey and Sassy (the cats in the video) for their cute Valentine's Day greetings.

Be sure to visit Sparkle the Designer Cat's Valentine's Day party!  You'll have lots of fun, especially if you're a feline.

P.S.  I once heard a radio interview of Elton John, in which he said that he never tired of playing "Your Song" (1970) in concert.  That's a testimony to the song's emotional reach.  I can't think of a better Valentine's Day musical closer.  It appeared on Elton's self-titled second album.

It's Back!

IT'S BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thing creeped moi out last year.  Decorinator has been busy putting up Valentine's Day adornments throughout the Library.  We have all our old favorites from last year, along with a few new faces.

Front Display Case is All Set For Smooching

It's not like mistletoe, Scowl-Face.  So you can stop hanging around the display cabinet by the Library's front entrance.  Ain't happenin' -- just saying.

Don't Forget Willie, Too

Scowl-Face, either use the camera flash or get the tripod.  I'm not telling you again.

Cherubs Are Kinda Cute, Kinda Creepy, Too

My Weird-O-Meter is Off the Scale Now

Shouldn't the Frogger Say, "Hold Me," Since This is the Holds Shelf?

P.S.  The Beatles wrote many classic rock-and-roll love songs.  "P.S., I Love You," from the LP Please Please Me (1963), is one good example.  Please Please Me was the Beatles' debut album.  Don't have it?  For shame.

Be Our Valentines

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and the MPL Decorinator (like the Terminator, only artsy) has once again done wonders with the library's décor.

Our resident "head writers" (you'll get the joke when you see their pictures) are all decked out for the upcoming celebration.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow & William Shakespeare
(our resident "head writers") are all dolled up for February 14

(Get it?  Head writers?  I crack myself up.  Or perhaps I "bust" myself up.  [Groan!].)

One of our faux slobberdogs graces the new book shelves in the grown-up people portion of the library.

(Like Snoopy atop his slobberdog house in Peanuts)

Then there's this thing.  I'm sorry, but it's just plain wrong.

Bizarre and alarming some kinda monster, I'm sure

After being severely creeped-out by that last image, I am glad to return to something universally regarded as just too cute.

That's more like it.

The MPL Decorinator has certainly put our library staff and patrons in the proper mood for an affectionate holiday.  Remember that I especially like those cream-filled chocolate doodahs.  Don't skimp on the quantity; the family size box, please, for moi will do nicely, thank you very much.

P.S.  When giving me boxes of chocolates, be sure to put them where Scowl-Face won't find them.  He goes after them like Forrest Gump.
