Some readers might wonder what all the fuss is about; after all, you might say, these are only "stuffed animals." As anyone who has ever read The Velveteen Rabbit, Corduroy, or Winnie-the-Pooh will attest, being a "stuffed animal" does not in any way make him or her less real to a child. (Ask Scowl-Face about his stuffed elephant.) Some of my best friends are teddy bears, I'll have you know.
This is going to be an exciting program for these teddy bears and their children who love and care for them. There is, of course, one obvious question: Where is MY invitation, Wild Thang? Those teddies will need a chaperone, and Cauli fits that bill, make no mistake! I'll keep things running in orderly fashion without compromising any of the great fun we could have. Try that balancing act, then watch moi to learn how it's done.
I can only assume that my party invitation was misdirected in interoffice mail. Perhaps your email went into my spam folder by mistake, Wild Thang. But it's not too late to make amends. Send my invitation to Scowl-Face's email address (subject line: Cauli's belated invitation), like pronto. I'll be waiting by my computer. Or his computer. Whatever.
I'm still waiting. Chop-chop, Wild Thang! Time's a'wastin' (as Snuffy Smith used to say in the comic strip).
I'm STILL Waiting,
