Okay, this posting's title is a bit misleading. Scowl-Face isn't 100 years old today; rather, he just feels like it. Actually, he completed his 100th book trailer this evening. Want to see it? Well, too bad, because I'm showing you anyway.
This was a fascinating book. It's non-fiction, by the way. That makes it even more intriguing. Hamlin Garland won the Pulitzer Prize for an earlier work, and it is easy to see why: His writing is fluid, engaging, and easy to follow.

P.S. Buried antiquities reminded me of "Dirt," by Phish, from Farmhouse (2000).
Actually, this makes 102 book trailers for Scowl-Face, including two alternative soundtrack versions for a couple book trailers. But who's counting, right?
