Since this week's Wednesday posting (5/11/11) has gone kaput (here's hoping the Blogger folks will restore it; I'm sure I can't remember what I said now), I thought it might be a good time to promote the HUGE upcoming blockbuster summer event of the century or maybe of all time, the MPL Summer Reading Kick-off Carnival, which is slated for May 27, 2011, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. With a little copy-and-paste sleight-of-hand from the MPL online calendar, here are the details.

Event Type: Children's Program Date: 5/27/2011 Start Time: 5:00 PM End Time: 6:30 PM Description: Join us for our Third Annual Summer Reading Kick Off Carnival! We are bringing back the dunk tank, climbing wall, bounce house, live snakes and the great face painting we had last year as well as lots of fun carnival games. We will have free food and drinks for children and teens and items to purchase for adults (benefits will go to the Friends of the Mooresville Public Library). This year join us on the Outdoor Courtyard and in the library's Community Room for this event. You will need to enter from the south side of the lot due to the carnival events. While you are here, be sure to sign up for Summer Reading! Location: Outdoor Courtyard (contact Meghan to reserve) Presenter: Suzanne Walker |
Broadway Gal or Wild Thang will set you up right for this not-to-be-missed summer extravaganza. Be there or be square. If you don't go, how will you know what you would've missed?

P.S. What could be more appropriate for a summer reading party than "Soak Up the Sun" by Sheryl Crow, from her album C'mon, C'mon (2002).
