Slobberdogs, Lend Moi Your Ears

April 2017 Update:  We were saddened to learn that Fluff passed away at the end of March.  Darla will continue serving as a Paws to Read dog, and there will be a new member of the team soon.

Little human kids love reading aloud to our Paws to Read slobberdogs, Darla and Fluff, who are excellent listeners.

Aren't They Cute?

Paws to Read is a literacy program offered at the Library to help young people folks improve their reading skills.  Please drop by our youth services desk to sign-up.  Darla and Fluff will be listening to young readers on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 10-11 a.m. in one of our study rooms.

I applaud the wonderful service these nice slobberdogs are doing for our community.  Maybe they can open a can of tuna-in-oil for moi as well.  You can never have too many useful skills, slobberdogs.  Just saying.

MPL Book Trailer #363

P.S.  A few days ago, we created this book trailer (above) featuring the children's picture book, Madeline Finn and the Library Dog,  by Lisa Papp.  It's a fun read!  It would be especially good to read to Darla or Fluff.

  1. I would love to do something like this for kids who like kitties! I think the Los Angeles City library system is a little stricter with allowing therapy animals do events, though. I know we don't have any library cats in the system, sadly.
