We're Not in Kansas Anymore, Toto
Broadway Gal just announced that the first chicksoon has hatched! It is Toto, who now officially becomes one of my winged dinners great new chick pals at the Library. Toto made an amazing eggs-scape (you know, by hatching out of the egg), but it is a tiring process, so a nap is certainly in order.
We're Not in Kansas Anymore, Toto (I Didn't Know Eggs Were Named After States)
Read all about the chicksoons hatching at the Library's Hatching Chicks Blog. I bet Broadway Gal is a proud surrogate momma! Did you know that newborn chicks imprint on whomever they first see and believe that s/he or it is their mother? So Broadway Gal should soon have a clutch (or peep) of baby chicks parading after her all around MPL Youth Services. That would be a hilarious video! Minions, make it so.

P.S. Metal legend Zakk Wylde demonstrates the "chicken pickin'" technique of guitar playing. Be sure to watch from the 4:00 minute mark to see a close-up of "chicken pickin'," and you'll be able to hear why it's called that. The sound (from 4:00 to 4:09 or so) reminded moi of a chicken call. See what you think.
