Wi-Fi access at my Library just got a whole lot easier. CompuGal says that the service no longer requires a special log-in number that patrons previously secured at the MPL Circulation Desk. If patrons' laptops or other online devices are configured to automatically detect wi-fi signals, then log-in should occur automatically as soon as the signal is detected. Once they're through our entry doors, they should be good to go. Our wi-fi is free, of course.
This is great news for our patrons, who like the convenience of no-hassle wi-fi accessibility. I predict it will result in an increase in donations of canned tuna-in-oil to moi. Of course, that's my standard prediction about everything.
Try out our new wi-fi easy access during your next library visit. You'll be pleased. Hats off to CompuGal and Boss Lady for this improvement in our online service. You may thank them by giving moi that canned tuna. I'll pass along your appreciation and the empties (for recycling).

P.S. You may be wondering about this post's title. Remember "How now, brown cow?" It's an elocution exercise. So I just updated it for the modern online world.
P.P.S. I've used this musical closer before, but it bears repeating, because "how now, brown cow" appears as a lyric in "Gonna Buy Me a Dog," a whimsical little novelty number composed by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart, who produced the Monkees debut self-titled album (1966). Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones were horsing around with the song, if you'll excuse my mixing animal metaphorical phrasal verbs. Could be a predicative adjective. You should look it up. (Hey, did you know the Monkees have a web site? Now you do.)
