New Adult Programs for 2013

My Library will be having many new adult programs next year.  Be a part of the fun!  You can take your nap later.  I plan to.

2013 Adult Winter Reading Program (Jan. 1 — Feb 28)

Join the fun in our first adult winter reading program. Keep track of the books (or ebooks) you read (or audio books you listen to). Just complete your online book log (or fill-out paper forms, available at the library) to have a chance to win an epic grand prize. To participate, you must be (1) 18 years or older; (2) a Morgan County, Indiana resident; and (3) have a library card (Evergreen Indiana, Access, or PLAC card) in good standing.

Beginning January 7, Yoga at the library is moving to Mondays at 5:30-6:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Blood Pressure Screening (3rd Tuesdays)

Every third Tuesday of the month (3-4 p.m.), beginning January 15, have your blood pressure checked while you visit the library.

P.S.  Since we list our programs on our online calender, a fitting musical closer would be "Calendar Girl" (1961), by Neil Sedaka.  This top-five (it reached #4 on Billboard's hot 100 pop singles chart) hit tune (written by Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield) demonstrated that a simple formula (calendar plus girl plus boy singer = love song) could produce a big-selling single.  For Paul McCartney and John Lennon, it was a matter of Ringo Starr's malapropisms, one of which they used to title (and then to compose) "Eight Days a Week," from the Beatles album Beatles For Sale (1964).  Come to think of it, that's another "calendar song."  We recently included that song in a recent blog posting.
