The Ol' Alma Mater Beckons

Since I'm a cat, I never attended people school, but all of my human friends did (or are doing so as we speak).  If you're a people (and you know who you are) who attended any of the schools in Mooresville or vicinity (i.e., for many of you, that would be within the Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation), then you will definitely want to attend the bigbash celebration on Saturday, April 21, 2012, commemorating Mooresville High School's 150th anniversary, and Newby Memorial Elementary School's 75th anniversary.  Want the official skinny?  I've got you covered.

Be there, or be square--just saying.  For more information, alumni should visit the Mooresville Facebook alumni page or the Mooresville schools alumni website.

P.S.  "Be True to Your School," by the Beach Boys, first appeared as a single (1963) and also on the LP Little Deuce Coupe (1963).  Life was simpler way back then.

P.P.S.  I've always liked "My Old School," by Steely Dan, for the quality of its jazz/rock/funk/blues/pop fusion (which pretty much describes the band's musical approach in the early 1970s).  The song was included on the album Countdown to Ecstasy (1973).  A lot changed in the decade between the Beach Boys' tune and this one.
