Wi-Fi, Horse Fly

Wi-Fi access at my Library just got a whole lot easier.  CompuGal says that the service no longer requires a special log-in number that patrons previously secured at the MPL Circulation Desk.  If patrons' laptops or other online devices are configured to automatically detect wi-fi signals, then log-in should occur automatically as soon as the signal is detected.  Once they're through our entry doors, they should be good to go.  Our wi-fi is free, of course.

This is great news for our patrons, who like the convenience of no-hassle wi-fi accessibility.  I predict it will result in an increase in donations of canned tuna-in-oil to moi.  Of course, that's my standard prediction about everything.

Try out our new wi-fi easy access during your next library visit.  You'll be pleased.  Hats off to CompuGal and Boss Lady for this improvement in our online service.  You may thank them by giving moi that canned tuna.  I'll pass along your appreciation and the empties (for recycling).

P.S.  You may be wondering about this post's title.  Remember "How now, brown cow?"  It's an elocution exercise.  So I just updated it for the modern online world.

  1. Library Wi-Fi rules. A few weeks ago, the electricity in our neighborhood died because of high winds and my human was able to find a library in the next neighborhood over to get online work done. And I got a few hours of peace while she was away.
