It's Your Day, Boss Lady!

Today (October 17) is the observance of National Boss Day, or Boss's Day, or even Bosses' Day.  It is officially October 16, but that was yesterday, and since it was a Sunday this year, the observance is the next working day.  That's today.  So it all works out.

I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge THE best boss anywhere in the entire world.  That may seem like hyperbole or what Scowl-Face's generation called "brown-nosing" (but Decorinator's generation called "apple-polishing").  So be it.  It's true, and I purr the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.  Well, more or less.

Why is Boss Lady such a terrific boss?  How much time have you got?  I could write reams of cyber paper about how great a leader she is at my Library, but suffice to say that she encourages all her staff to be creative and then gives us room to maneuver.  It is this trust in our abilities, and the willingness to give us space to be creative, that distinguishes Boss Lady from all the other bosses out there.

Are other bosses as good as Boss Lady?  Some are, to be sure.  But none better, at least by our accounting.  We're happy and lucky to have her.  No, you can't have her.

What should we give Boss Lady on this day of honor?  YouTube videos are cheap.  Hey, they're free!  Can't beat that.

That last one will probably get moi fired, so time to employ that sure-fire deflection technique--blame Scowl-Face.  Works every time.

Happy Boss's Day, Boss Lady!

P.S.  What better musical closer is there for today's posting than "The Boss," by James Brown, from the album Black Caesar, the soundtrack to the movie by the same title (1973).
