Today's Mooresville-Decatur Times announced that the seventh annual Kiwanis International Taste of Mooresville will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on September 29, 2011 at Jones Crossing Banquet & Event Center, located on the corner of State Road 67 and Allison Road. The event is sponsored by Franciscan/St. Francis Health.
This is a huge culinary adventure for our little town. You get to sample the cuisine of over 15 local restaurants and bid on unique auction items. Of course, the real reason for people to attend is to help raise money for local charities, such as Churches in Mission and community youth organizations. But it's the food that attracts moi and my feline pals from around town. You can bet your bottom dollar (why not the top dollar, I wonder?) that we kitties will be roaming in force in the neighborhood, looking for tasty treats that our massive cuteness assures will be forthcoming from you human types. Hey, it's a little degrading for us to pander, but, hey, free meals are hard enough to find for us cats.

Advanced tickets are $15; you pay $20 at the door the day of the event, so buy yours early and save. Tickets are available at Citizens Bank, First Merchants Bank, HomeBank, M & I Bank, and Regions Bank, so you should have no trouble purchasing yours at your leisure.
Inside Jones Crossing
You won't want to miss this taste bud treat of the season. Look for moi by the back doors. You'd be surprised how many tasty treats humans leave on their plates, which are perfect for feline consumption.

P.S. The definitive song about eating is "Eat It," a parody of Michael Jackson's song "Beat It." "Eat It" was "Weird Al" Yankovic's first megahit when he released this music video (1984), which parodied the Jackson music video, using some of the same cast members. "Eat It" appeared on the album "Weird Al" Yankovic in 3-D (1984). The song was his highest charting single (#12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1984) until "White and Nerdy" hit #9 on Billboard's in 2006.
