Apparently Not Included in the Fun

If you're a patron of my Library, don't drop by tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 16, 2011).  The Library will be closed.

MPL Courtyard

Ordinarily, the Library is a sad and lonely place when it's closed.  But not tomorrow.  The place will be hopping, because it's my Library's annual staff in-service training bigbash.  ALL of the staff must attend; all except moi, apparently.

I was not told to be there, and I know for a fact that sandwiches will be served. That is totally unfair, especially since some of them are turkey, ham, or possibly chicken.  Do you think anyone will be saving a carry-out bag for moi? We all know the disappointing answer to that.  Our staff is not known for leaving any crumbs behind on their plates.

Making My Mouth Water Just Looking at Such Wonderfulness

I don't mind missing all the training stuff that the other staffers need to know to do their jobs--none of which is necessary for my job--but a lunchless Cauli is an unhappy kitty camper.

What's more, I won't be included in the recording sessions of Broadway Gal's latest smash hit music video parody!  Now I have to draw the line in the sand about that!  Exactly what is wrong with our library world when the STAR performer is excluded from her video vehicle to fame and fortune?  I ask you, honestly.  Just what is the deal here?  I can sing and dance with the best of them.  Well, caterwaul, anyway.

This is NOT a case in which PhotoShop can come to the rescue, especially with Scowl-Face's limited skill set.  If the video is filmed (to mix technical jargon) without moi, then I simply won't appear in it, and that won't please my battery of rabid fans out there on the Internet, will it?  "Flat Cauli" won't do, either. My fans want the genuine article.

Well, I'm not going to beg.  That is totally undignified for a feline (although for slobberdogs it's standard behavior).  If I am felis catus non grata at this in-service, then I guess I won't be hanging out around the Library tomorrow. I've got important news-gathering to do.  Besides, there are dumpsters to inspect.

P.S.  Speaking of being closed, here's "Closing Time," by Semisonic, shown here in a music video performing the song, which is from the CD Feeling Strangely Fine (1998).
